Simple Steps to Healing:

I Love You, I'm Sorry, Please Forgive Me, Thank You

by Dr. Joe Vitale
Two years ago, I heard about a therapist in Hawaii who cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients – without ever seeing any of them. The psychologist would study an inmate's chart and then look within himself to see how he created that person's illness. As he improved himself, the patient improved.
When I first heard this story, I thought it was an urban legend. How could anyone heal anyone else by healing himself? How could even the best self-improvement master cure the criminally insane?
It didn't make any sense. It wasn't logical, so I dismissed the story.
However, I heard it again a year later. I heard that the therapist had used a Hawaiian healing process called ho'oponopono. I had never heard of it, yet I couldn't let it leave my mind. If the story was at all true, I had to know more.
I had always understood "total responsibility" to mean that I am responsible for what I think and do. Beyond that, it's out of my hands. I think that most people think of total responsibility that way. We're responsible for what we do, not what anyone else does. The Hawaiian therapist who healed those mentally ill people would teach me an advanced new perspective about total responsibility.
His name is Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. We probably spent an hour talking on our first phone call. I asked him to tell me the complete story of his work as a therapist. He explained that he worked at Hawaii State Hospital for four years. That ward where they kept the criminally insane was dangerous. Psychologists quit on a monthly basis. The staff called in sick a lot or simply quit. People would walk through that ward with their backs against the wall, afraid of being attacked by patients. It was not a pleasant place to live, work, or visit.
Dr. Len told me that he never saw patients. He agreed to have an office and to review their files. While he looked at those files, he would work on himself. As he worked on himself, patients began to heal.
"After a few months, patients that had to be shackled were being allowed to walk freely," he told me. "Others who had to be heavily medicated were getting off their medications. And those who had no chance of ever being released were being freed."
I was in awe.
"Not only that," he went on, "but the staff began to enjoy coming to work. Absenteeism and turnover disappeared. We ended up with more staff than we needed because patients were being released, and all the staff was showing up to work."
This is where I had to ask the million dollar question: "What were you doing within yourself that caused those people to change?"
"I was simply healing the part of me that created them," he said.
I didn't understand.
Dr. Len explained that total responsibility for your life means that everything in your life – simply because it is in your life – is your responsibility. In a literal sense the entire world is your creation.
Whew. This is tough to swallow. Being responsible for what I say or do is one thing. Being responsible for what everyone in my life says or does is quite another. Yet, the truth is this: if you take complete responsibility for your life, then everything you see, hear, taste, touch, or in any way experience is your responsibility because it is in your life.
This means that terrorist activity, the president, the economy – anything you experience and don't like – is up for you to heal. They don't exist, in a manner of speaking, except as projections from inside you. The problem isn't with them, it's with you, and to change them, you have to change you.
I know this is tough to grasp, let alone accept or actually live. Blame is far easier than total responsibility, but as I spoke with Dr. Len, I began to realize that healing for him and in ho'oponopono means loving yourself. If you want to improve your life, you have to heal your life. If you want to cure anyone – even a mentally ill criminal – you do it by healing you.
I asked Dr. Len how he went about healing himself. What was he doing, exactly, when he looked at those patients' files?
"I just kept saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' over and over again," he explained.
That's it?
That's it.
Turns out that loving yourself is the greatest way to improve yourself, and as you improve yourself, you improve your world. Let me give you a quick example of how this works: one day, someone sent me an email that upset me. In the past I would have handled it by working on my emotional hot buttons or by trying to reason with the person who sent the nasty message. This time, I decided to try Dr. Len's method. I kept silently saying, "I'm sorry" and "I love you." I didn't say it to anyone in particular. I was simply evoking the spirit of love to heal within me what was creating the outer circumstance.
Within an hour I got an e-mail from the same person. He apologized for his previous message. Keep in mind that I didn't take any outward action to get that apology. I didn't even write him back. Yet, by saying "I love you," I somehow healed within me what was creating him.
In short, Dr. Len says there is no out there. It would take a whole book to explain this advanced technique with the depth it deserves. Suffice it to say that whenever you want to improve anything in your life, there's only one place to look: inside you.
And when you look, do it with love.

Note: This article is edited from the book Zero Limits by Dr. Joe Vitale and Dr. Len. You can listen to Joe talk about his experience with Dr. Len and his involvement with the inspiring movie, The Secret, on News for the Soul by clicking here. He starts talking about Dr. Len at minute 15 in this highly engaging one-hour interview.
Dr. Len's message may be quite hard to believe, yet it's amazingly simple. He states that we are all responsible for everything that we see in our world. By taking full personal responsibility and then healing the wounded places within ourselves, we can literally heal ourselves and our world. As related by Joe Vitale in the radio interview, Dr. Len suggests a four-stage process for this work. Whenever a place for healing presents itself in your life, open to the place where the hurt resides within you. After identifying this place, with as much feeling as you can, say the below four statements:
  • I love you.
  • I'm sorry.
  • Please forgive me.
  • Thank you.
For several inspiring articles on this process from Dr. Len's website, click on the "Articles" tag at his website, http://www.self-i-dentity-through-hooponopono.com. Even if you are skeptical, consider giving this simple healing method a try to see what happens. Many have found it to be incredibly profound in their lives. Five Performance Lessons From The Biggest Loser

To give you an idea, the most recent winner, Danny Cahill a 40-year-old man from Oklahoma, went from 430 pounds to 191 pounds in 7 months (that`s 239 pounds LOST).

When my wife first began watching the show and telling me how fascinating it was, I wasn`t that interested; reality TV didn`t seem very real to me, and I didn`t really want to watch. After a few more conversations, I decided to watch with her.

The show is "reality TV" and therefore there are elements that don`t interest me that much, and I wish it wasn`t so long (it`s the perfect candidate for your DVR), but overall I really enjoy the show.

Why?

I enjoy the show because of the truths it highlights week after week about human performance, success, goal achievement and leadership. And, of course, these lessons are available to us all regardless of how much we weigh.

Here are five of the most valuable lessons you can take from this show and apply in your life.

The importance of vision. How can we arrive at any destination if we don`t know what it is? Contestants on the show often say "I`m not ready to go home yet" (most weeks at least one contestant leaves "the ranch" where all contestants live while they pursue their weight loss full time). This statement connects to their vision. Often what they mean but don`t say is that they don`t yet have the skills, tools, and more to be successful on their own at home in reaching their vision. Their vision is clear and those who stay the most focused on it have the best results.

The power of purpose. As with most reality television, there is a monetary prize for the person who loses the most weight (as a percentage of their initial weight). Yet, if you didn`t already know that as you watched the show, you wouldn`t learn it from the contestants. Do they want to win $250,000? I`m sure they do. However, that is never a topic of conversation; rather they talk about why they want to lose the weight - to play with their children, to live longer, to be a grandparent, to literally be able to have children, and more. These statements of purpose are the real "why" - the real reason they are putting their bodies and minds through extremes. Those with the strongest purposes, make the most progress.

The need for massive action. You must agree that you can`t lose 20-50+% of your body weight in 7 months by eating a few less chips or walking once in awhile. The people on the show aren`t timid about their actions. They are doing the extreme! When I watch them I am continually reminded that if you want massive change, you must take massive action.

The value of new habits. During the course of the show, there are episodes where all the remaining contestants go home for one or more weeks. During this time, they need to continue to exercise and eat correctly because when they return for the weekly weigh in, they will be accountable for their actions of the week. Those that are most successful at home are those who have built new habits of thinking and acting; habits that transcend the time away from home. So it is for us - we must consciously build habits that support the goals we want to achieve, and make choices that are consistent with those goals.

The consequences of coaching. The show has two trainers who work with the contestants throughout the show - helping them with diet, exercise and mindset changes. Would the contestants be as successful without a coach to help them with their improvement? Of course not! Few of us would embark on physical fitness change without some coaching; yet often we try to reach other personal or professional goals without informed help. Crazy isn`t it? If you want great success, get informed, caring, wise assistance.

Each of these lessons is incredibly valuable, and when intentionally applied can create great change. They apply to those we lead as well. When you take these lessons and apply them to your leadership activities, you can make a bigger difference within your organization.

Am I telling you to watch the new season, or watch past episodes online?

Not necessary; that is up to you.

What I am telling you is that if you want greater results in any part of your life, pay attention to the lessons I have shared above.

Because they work.

Remarkable leaders know that their ability to master these ideas makes them more effective leaders. 9 Things Successful People Do Differently by Heidi Grant Halvorson, Ph.D.

Why have you been so successful in reaching some of your goals, but not others? If you aren't sure, you are far from alone in your confusion. It turns out that even brilliant, highly accomplished people are pretty lousy when it comes to understanding why they succeed or fail. The intuitive answer -- that you are born predisposed to certain talents and lacking in others -- is really just one small piece of the puzzle. In fact, decades of research on achievement suggests that successful people reach their goals not simply because of who they are, but more often because of what they do.
Here are nine things successful people do differently:
Get Specific
When you set yourself a goal, try to be as specific as possible. "Lose 5 pounds" is a better goal than "lose some weight" because it gives you a clear idea of what success looks like. Knowing exactly what you want to achieve keeps you motivated until you get there. Also, think about the specific actions that need to be taken to reach your goal. Just promising you'll "eat less" or "sleep more" is too vague -- be clear and precise. "I'll be in bed by 10 p.m. on weeknights" leaves no room for doubt about what you need to do, and whether or not you've actually done it.
Seize The Moment To Act On Your Goals
Given how busy most of us are, and how many goals we are juggling at once, it's not surprising that we routinely miss opportunities to act on a goal because we simply fail to notice them. Did you really have no time to work out today? No chance at any point to return that phone call? Achieving your goal means grabbing hold of these opportunities before they slip through your fingers.
To seize the moment, decide in advance when and where you will take each action you want to take. Again, be as specific as possible (e.g. "If it's Monday, Wednesday or Friday, I'll work out for 30 minutes before work"). Studies show that this kind of planning will help your brain to detect and seize the opportunity when it arises, increasing your chances of success by roughly 300 percent.
Know Exactly How Far You Have Left To Go
Achieving any goal also requires honest and regular monitoring of your progress -- if not by others, then by you yourself. If you don't know how well you are doing, you can't adjust your behavior or your strategies accordingly. Check your progress frequently -- weekly, or even daily, depending on the goal.
Be A Realistic Optimist
When you are setting a goal, by all means engage in lots of positive thinking about how likely you are to achieve it. Believing in your ability to succeed is enormously helpful for creating and sustaining your motivation. But whatever you do, don't underestimate how difficult it will be to reach your goal. Most goals worth achieving require time, planning, effort and persistence. Studies show that thinking things will come to you easily and effortlessly leaves you ill-prepared for the journey ahead, and significantly increases the odds of failure.
Focus On Getting Better Rather Than Being Good

Believing you have the ability to reach your goals is important, but so is believing you can get the ability. Many of us believe that our intelligence, our personality and our physical aptitudes are fixed -- that no matter what we do, we won't improve. As a result, we focus on goals that are all about proving ourselves rather than developing and acquiring new skills.
Fortunately, decades of research suggest that the belief in fixed ability is completely wrong; abilities of all kinds are profoundly malleable. Embracing the fact that you can change will allow you to make better choices, and reach your fullest potential. People whose goals are about getting better, rather than being good, take difficulty in stride, and appreciate the journey as much as the destination.
Have Grit
Grit is a willingness to commit to long-term goals, and to persist in the face of difficulty. Studies show that gritty people obtain more education in their lifetime and earn higher college GPAs. Grit predicts which cadets will stick out their first grueling year at West Point. In fact, grit even predicts which round contestants will make it to at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
The good news is, if you aren't particularly gritty now, there is something you can do about it. People who lack grit more often than not believe that they just don't have the innate abilities successful people have. If that describes your own thinking -- well, there's no way to put this nicely -- you are wrong. As I mentioned earlier, effort, planning, persistence and good strategies are what it really takes to succeed. Embracing this knowledge will not only help you see yourself and your goals more accurately, but also do wonders for your grit.
Build Your Willpower Muscle
Your self-control "muscle" is just like the other muscles in your body -- when it doesn't get much exercise, it becomes weaker over time. But when you give it regular workouts by putting it to good use, it will grow stronger and stronger, and better able to help you successfully reach your goals.
To build willpower, take on a challenge that requires you to do something you'd honestly rather not do. Give up high-fat snacks, do 100 sit-ups a day, stand up straight when you catch yourself slouching or try to learn a new skill. When you find yourself wanting to give in, give up or just not bother, don't. Start with just one activity, and make a plan for how you will deal with troubles when they occur (e.g. "If I have a craving for a snack, I will eat one piece of fresh or three pieces of dried fruit.") It will be hard in the beginning, but it will get easier, and that's the whole point. As your strength grows, you can take on more challenges and step-up your self-control workout.
Don't Tempt Fate
No matter how strong your willpower muscle becomes, it's important to always respect the fact that it is limited, and if you overtax it, you will temporarily run out of steam. Don't try to take on two challenging tasks at once, like quitting smoking and dieting at the same time. And don't put yourself in harm's way; many people are overly-confident in their ability to resist temptation, and as a result they put themselves in situations where temptations abound. Successful people know not to make reaching a goal harder than it already is.
Focus On What You Will Do, Not What You Won't Do.
Do you want to successfully lose weight, quit smoking or put a lid on your bad temper? Then plan how you will replace bad habits with good ones, rather than focusing only on the bad habits themselves. Research on thought suppression (e.g. "Don't think about white bears!") has shown that trying to avoid a thought makes it even more active in your mind. The same holds true when it comes to behavior; by trying not to engage in a bad habit, our habits get strengthened rather than broken.
If you want change your ways, ask yourself, "What will I do instead?" For example, if you are trying to gain control of your temper and stop flying off the handle, you might make a plan like this: "If I am starting to feel angry, then I will take three deep breaths to calm down." By using deep breathing as a replacement for giving in to your anger, your bad habit will get worn away over time until it disappears completely.
It is my hope that, after reading about the nine things successful people do differently, you have gained some insight into all the things you have been doing right all along. Even more important, I hope are able to identify the mistakes that have derailed you, and use that knowledge to your advantage from now on. Remember: You don't need to become a different person to become a more successful one. It's never what you are, but what you do.
(For more on using each of these strategies, check out my new book Succeed: How We Can Reach Our Goals.)

Taking Time Out for Self Mastery

Have you just taken a time out? We have all done that in the past, just stop everything and walk away. Well if you have your OK, there is nothing wrong with you. This is a self time out. Sometimes we all have to do this in order to get though a tough day at work or at home with the teenagers or even maybe just to get a break from life its self. Well in the message I am going to tell you some things that just might help.

You have to be able to want to learn the skills so that you’re able to use them so they will benefit you. All you will have to do is to really sit down and decide what you want to be able to change. What do you want to do that is different from what you are doing now.

What should I do if I want to calm down?
If you decided that, you want to remove your self from the situation then go for a walk. You will find that going for a walk is a good thing for you mentally and physical.. Walking is a great stress reliever as well as a great exercise so when you are walking you are walking to be a better you.

Some people like to just be alone. This also very helpful  This will let you be able to really think about the area that needs work and help you to clarify what will work for you.

There are many others things that you can do to help yourself as well. Maybe you would like to learn how to control your mind so that you are able to think things out before you act. This is a great self-mastering skill.
You may want to talk to some one, this could be a close friend or a family member they might be able to give you some ideas that might be helpful to you. If you find that you’re not getting any help this way then you may want to go to your family doctor.  They may know someone who can assist you. The internet is a fabulous resource also.

What else can I do that might help me learn how to get self-mastering skills?
You might also want to try to go to your local library and learn about yoga this is an exercise that might help you to relax your mind and your body. There are tons of books and CD's available
If you find that yoga isn’t something that you would like to do then there is also mediation. This will help you to be able to control all of your body and mind. These are all good ways to learn so that you can get in control of your self-mastering skills.

What can happen to me if I don’t learn self-mastering skills?
If you don’t want to learn, there is no one who can make you do so, although you will never be in control of your thoughts or your emotions ( this always equals disaster).  We all have these issues and have to work on them every day but we can do it. Sometimes it will just take some time for you to put them to work. We all have the knowledge to learn but most of us don’t use this vital god given skill. Secrets to Creating Passive Online Income Using the Internet

Online passive income is basically income that is made online with little to no work after the original set up and it is made by selling products on affiliate links. The primary sources for passive online income are AdSense ads and other PPC (pay per click) ads that viewers visit. Passive income trumps ordinary go-to-work jobs because of the flexibility offered in terms of the number of hours required, location of the work, and the ease of access any time of the day or night.

Any free to use article can be posted on Google AdSense to create income. To avoid infringing on copyright laws be careful to keep the author biography intact and not to change anything in the article. Immediately after posting the e-book or a product on line, that page is available to the public to read and/or purchase and it is online for good without having to worry about re-doing it.

Making money on eBay is another possibility and perhaps among the easiest products to sell are e-books which sell well. Just purchase the e-books with resale rights and then list them on eBay. It takes a little more time to put a product on eBay but is still one of the easiest ways to keep and sell new products online and at the same time make money off the work of someone else. Immediately after posting an e-book or other product on line, that product is available for the public to view and from which they can purchase the product and it will remain online for good without having to worry about re-doing it.

Affiliate programs are probably one of the easiest ways to make passive income online because money comes in every time a product is sold. There is no need to spend money advertising and most affiliate programs are free to join.

conditioned your mind to focus on Riches, Abundance and Prosperity MORE than poverty, lack and
limitation - that's when MORE Money will begin to flow into your life!
2. Know what your Money is doing
If you haven’t mastered this one, you could seriously be strangling your flow of Abundance. If you
spend recklessly, don't pay bills on time, have no idea what money comes in and what goes out, on
a subconscious level you could actually be repelling Wealth. You may be pushing it out of your
experience because deep inside, you realise you wouldn’t know how to handle more money even if
you had it. You will be amazed at how you ‘magically’ tap into MORE Prosperity when you become a
master at managing your Money!
3. Constantly see the money already in the Bank
Visualizing the Riches you desire in your life will accelerate the money into your experience at
lightening speed. See yourself in your minds eye already using the things you bought with your
mountains of money, living in the house you built with your wildly wonderful wealth, driving the car
you purchased with your cash. Enjoy this one – add those delicious feelings of love, satisfaction and
gratitude at the same time as you see your picture of wealth for even faster results.
4. Be consistently grateful for your Abundant Riches
Gratitude is one of the most powerful, yet underestimated prosperity tricks you can use. The more
you are grateful for – the more will be given to you for you to be grateful for. This is a challenging
concept if you are currently experiencing financial or personal hardship – but it’s well worth it. At
the end of each day, write down at least 5 things you are grateful for – anything at all – the
sunshine on the water, the birds singing in the trees, a cuddle from your children, the fact that the
day is over and it’s time for bed (when I first began studying prosperity I had to use that one on a
number of occasions!). Do this consistently for the next 60 days and be amazed at the abundance
that begins to flow into your life.
5. Do something that makes you feel Rich
Whether you can afford to do this on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, just make sure that you
consistently do something that you KNOW rich people do! Have a massage, buy fresh flowers, go to
a day spa, hire a Porsche, go to a restaurant and don’t even look at the prices, have someone come
in and clean your house, take your best friends out to lunch. Or do something that is FREE – pick a
bunch of flowers, take a picnic to the beach at sunset, go for a drive in an expensive estate and
imagine which house you now own. Whatever it is for you – just DO it! The more you practice this
feeling rich, the faster it becomes a part of you. Just a quick note – do NOT go into debt to practice
this one, make sure you spend only what you have in cash.
6. Create a space for your Prosperity
This one is EASY! The Universe abhors a vacuum. Create a space for your prosperity and it will be
filled. Get rid of the clutter in your life – the books you don’t read, the paperwork in your drawers,
the old clothes that don’t fit, the boxes of junk in the garage. When you clean out the old, you make
room for the new – so start creating that space for abundance today.
7. Laugh and have fun
I’m serious! One of the most important things you can do on a daily basis to move easily and
effortlessly into the flow of prosperity is laugh. Having fun moves your energy into a place of
attraction – use this time wisely to attract to you the prosperity you desire. When you are playing
with your children, watching a funny movie, spending time with your friends, laughing loudly at a
joke – just for a few seconds while you’re in that fabulously funny space, imagine yourself as a
multi-millionaire, feel the feelings you would feel knowing that you now have more money than you
could ever spend, and feel SO GOOD about it.
8. Celebrate your Wealth
Do something grand or do it small, but celebrate today! Have a Prosperity party and invite your
friends around complete with tuxedoes, ball gowns and waiters. Everyone (even the not so rich)
must pretend for the evening that they have over $50,000,000 net worth and chat about which jet
they are taking on their next overseas jaunt, what luxury car they are driving or the spending sprees
they are planning. If that’s out of your price (and comfort) range – gather a group of friends and
sing ‘Money, Money, Money’ at the top of your lungs as you dance around the house. Maybe you’d
prefer to sprinkle 100-dollar bills and rose petals over your bed and roll around joyously with your
lover. And make it a habit to shout thank you to the Universe every single time more prosperity
flows your way – whether that’s finding 1c on the street, an unexpected $100 in the mail or a
$10,000 windfall – celebrate it all!
9. Share your good fortune
Tithing is an age-old secret that Millionaires have known about forever! Plus, they didn’t wait until
they were rich to begin tithing, they did it before, during and after they accumulated their wealth.
Universal Law states that the more you give of something, the more you receive. If you want more
smiles, give more smiles, if you want more love, give more love – if you want more money give
more money. Generally tithing means to give 10% of all you make back to the person, place or
institution who feeds you spiritually or empowers you to be your best. Having said that – don’t get
too hung up on where the money goes, just GIVE! Whenever you do give money to others, bless it
and expect it’s ten fold return back to you – you will be amazed at the abundance that pours into
your life.

10. Prosperity is more than just masses of money, outrageous riches and Avalanches of
Abundance

Prosperity and Abundance are worthless if you don’t have your health, loved ones in your life and
something to do each day that makes your heart sing. On the other hand, if you’re continually
struggling financially, it certainly takes the shine off all other areas of your life. Why not have it all?
It really IS possible. How would you feel if you could spend each day with friends that inspire and
uplift you? Only work because you love what you do. Be able to spend your time doing what you
choose and when you choose and continue to experience greater and greater levels of abundance,
wealth and prosperity year after year.
When you continually and persistently create a Millionaire Mindset, manage your money wisely,
visualize yourself as wealthy, are grateful for the richness already in your life, feel abundant, clean
up your clutter, laugh, celebrate and share your wealth - you will unleash such a flow of prosperity in
your life - you will finally believe you CAN Create Outrageous Riches, Plentiful Prosperity, Wildly
Wonderful Wealth, Fabulous Financial Freedom and Mountains of Money NOW!

Can Subliminal Mp3s Help You Reach Your Goals?

Can Subliminal Mp3s Help You Reach Your Goals?

If you have specific goals for yourself and you are determined to reach them then then you are on your way to success - setting goals is the crucial first step in the direction of success.

  • Are you extremely ambitious?
  • Would you like to achieve enormous levels of success?
  • Do you dream of making your mark on the world and leaving a legacy?

No matter what your goal is, be it losing weight, starting a successful business, learning a foreign language, or becoming successful in the sporting world, a solid plan, and a focus on your goal are crucial.

However, if you're really serious about wanting to achieve your goal then you will probably try everything you can to give yourself an edge - perhaps reading around the subject, analyzing other people who've already completed the goal, and trying various things to discover what helps you best.

Many people are hesitant to ask for assistance, or even to look for help themselves, but this isn't something to be ashamed of - many of the most successful individuals in the world, from all different fields read self improvement books, ask for help and try several different things to get ahead and obtain a competitive edge.

Tiger Woods for example was already devoted to turning into a world class golfer, and he put in a lot of physical practice, but he also tried a few mind enhancement tools like subliminal audio and hypnosis - these helped to sharpen his mind, and really focus him on his goals.

Stephen Speilberg, also sought out different means of getting an advantage and becoming successful. In his early days he did a lot of "modeling" other people's actions and behavior - he actually purchased a suit and walked round the movie studios pretending to be a director - he wanted to emulate the people he wanted to be like, and consider using any means he possibly could to reach success. Again, he also became an advocate of subliminal messages - later on professing that helped to boost his self-control and fortify his thoughts against setbacks.

If you are seriously interested in accomplishing your goals then you too should do everything you possibly can to achieve success. A proven way, as mentioned above is by using subliminal messaging. It isn't magic, nor instant, and it is not going to do everything for you. However, if used persistently then it can help you to achieve success, and give you a competitive advantage over your peers .
