Do you put off your work for later, only to find your deadlines steadily creeping in? Then you, my friend, are one of the millions of people afflicted by the procrastination virus. Procrastination is the biggest reason for loss of productivity and late output. Though many would not admit it, they would benefit greatly if they start their work on time.

For many people, putting off their work for later is more habit than desire. It can be so hard to get into a groove where starting your tasks in a timely fashion is a priority; especially if the consequences for being late are things that one can probably bear.

If you are one of these people, yet you desire to shake off your propensity for procrastination, then you have come to the right place. Here are a few tips to help you overcome this dilemma and become a more productive and reliable person.


1. Set schedules – It is very important that you have a list of activities to accomplish per day. This will help you realistically budget your time and resources. One of the cardinal sins people commit in regards to performing their tasks is to put off their work because they feel like there is so much time left. A journal, organizer, or calendar of events will help you plan and schedule your task so that you can start them promptly and finish them on time.


2. Save the Vacation for Later – Many people put their work off for later saying, “I'll just have a little fun then buckle down to work later.” While it may be true that they may have more than enough time to accomplish their tasks, it would be better if they finished their work first and relax afterward.


Wouldn't relaxation be sweeter if it were after a taxing job? If you choose to lay back and relax before doing your tasks, you will be more prone to burnout and will have nothing exciting left to look forward to after accomplishing a task. It is always better to have slack period AFTER a job than before one, especially considering that people are wont to overusing their slack time. This is suicide if you are heading towards a deadline.


3. Never Underestimate Your Tasks – Sometimes procrastination sets in because people underestimate the resources, difficulty, and time spent for a particular task. They will usually say, “It's just mowing the lawn, it’s easy; I could do it in a jiffy.” The problem is, no matter how trivial the task, it still takes time and resources to accomplish. If you underestimate a task, you will most likely set too little time to do it and schedule it too close to its deadline.


4. Don't Allow Yourself to Get Comfortable Doing Nothing – It would definitely help if you kept a subconscious alarm whenever you are doing nothing. Get this alarm to remind you of things that may need to be done. This will help you foster the notion that jobs accomplished now means more time for relaxation later. However, even if this is the case, do not forget to put ample time in for rest and to remove all thoughts of troubles before hitting the sack. The trick here, however, is not to overdo you rest. There is a difference between resting and idling. Always set the right amount of time for rest and stick to that schedule.

As an affiliate marketer you can really boost your sales and your customer lists by holding a tele-seminar. A tele-seminar is a great way to reach out to your list members and build-up a trusting relationship with them. And, as you know, this positive relationship helps you to ultimately gain sales and even more list members!

Why a Tele-Seminar and What is It Exactly?

A tele-seminar is simply a meeting over the telephone. To host a tele-seminar you can set one up with a telephone service provider, and have your list members’ call-in to a specific number at a scheduled time.

Once you have the call up and going, you control who is speaking. You can opt to do all the speaking on your calls or have guest speakers. And, if you choose to you can even open up your call-in lines at the end of the call for questions.

Have people sign-up for your tele-seminar and then e-mail them the information of where to call. Send a couple follow-up messages and remind people to attend.

What Day and Time are best for Tele-Seminar Attendance?

One hurdle you face once you have decided to host a tele-seminar is what day of the week and what time do you host it. Extensive research into this has shown that the best days are Tuesday and Thursday and the best time is about 6pm in the evening when people are home from work. It is best to try to aim for these days and time rather than try to “reinvent the wheel” and test days and times needlessly.

What is Your Call Agenda?

Every tele-seminar needs to have an agenda. To come up with ideas for your calls you need to understand what your list members are looking for and how you can help them achieve it through your call. Is there something you can talk about which will educate them? Can you find a guest speaker who they will be excited to hear from? Think about your list members needs and go from there. And, don’t feel like you have to have tons of things to talk about. A simple 30 minute call about a single topic of interest will suffice.

The basis of your tele-seminar should be to educate your callers. You may wish to sell to them, through your websites and even your guest speakers, but ultimately you want your callers to be learning something and appreciating that you want to give them something of value. It is from this feeling of building a relationship with you that they will purchase from you either immediately or later on down the line.

When you have a guest speaker, you want to really hype them up and sell them – do not sell their products! However, just by listening to them talk, and by your association with them, you will sell their products, and your own, from just simply hosting the call.

Tele-Seminar Call Etiquette 101

You want to handle your call in a professional manner. This means that if you are working from home you want to be in a quite place. You want to introduce yourself and anyone else who is speaking. You want to chat a bit at the beginning about where you are located or something which will help you to connect to your callers. Let your callers know that you all have similar things in common in your lives.

On your sign-up page you should have a nice, professional photo of yourself. You might also want to have an audio clip. This allows your attendees to feel like they know you and have seen and heard you before.

The most important thing you can do for your callers, and your own professional reputation, is to be on time to your tele-seminars. If you are late your business will really suffer over time.

No, Don’t Hang Up!

Studies have shown that most callers will hang-up from a tele-seminar after 10 minutes if they are bored or not learning something. This means that you have 10 minutes from the start of your call to get your callers engaged.

One way to keep callers on the line is by giving them a bit of a hook. To do this you will want to tell them about something which is coming up, and then talk about something different. For instance, if I were giving a tele-seminar I might say that I have an exciting announcement about a new product coming up in a few minutes. Because of the natural curiosity of people, they will stay on the line because they want to know what your new product is. By subtly doing this a few times, you can hold your caller’s attention through the entire call.

Reuse and Recycle Your Tele-Seminars

One of the biggest advantages you have with tele-seminars is that you can reuse them in unlimited ways to further capitalize on their time and effort. You can record your sessions and offer them as MP3 files on your website. You can have them transcribed and converted into eBooks. You can take the resulting eBook and break it down into articles to use for article marketing and SEO. Think of all of the marketing possibilities you can come up with by hosting a single, 30 minute tele-seminar.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, a tele-seminar can be a great addition to your internet affiliate marketing ventures. You can use them to build great relationships with your lists, make joint ventures with others through their being a guest speaker on your call, and can then use the information over and over again in many other moneymaking ways. All in all, tele-seminars are great vehicles for making money and building excellent relationships with your list!

Anthony Robbins’ 12 Reasons Why Most People Don’t Get Wealthy

According to Wallace Wattles, in his popular wealth treatise
called the Science of Getting Rich, said that, “There is a
science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra
or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of
acquiring riches, and once these laws are learned and obeyed by
anyone, that person will get rich with mathematical certainty.”

It is true. Those who make wealth know that it comes about by
application of simple rules and principles. Those who don’t make
wealth don’t know about these simple things, and so they assume
that wealth is a result of luck or pure chance or something just
as superstitious or silly.

Anthony Robbins is one of the top success coaches in the world,
having coached star sports players, heads of states and Fortune
500 executives. In his Get The Edge program, he listed down 12
specific reasons he has come to observe to be the leading causes
for most people’s lack of wealth. Here they are:

1. They never decide and really define, very specifically,
what wealth means for them. The keyword here is specifically. Can
you imagine how hard it would be to build a car or a plane
without making a blueprint or sketch drawings of it first? You
have to know what your target is before you go chasing after it.

2. They make wealth a moving target instead of a fixed one
(this is related to point one above). Once you have your target,
fix it. Don’t change it until you reach it. You must accomplish
each step, celebrate, and then set course for a new step, a new
target.

3. They define it in a way that seems unreachable. You only
achieve what you believe. No more, no less. So you must make it
believable for you. Set goals that will make you move forward and
stretch, but not too high that even you yourself don’t believe
you can. Take the biggest step you believe you can, achieve it,
then take the next biggest you believe you can. This will build
positive reinforcement in your self-confidence as well.

4. They never start. Ok, this is obvious. If you keep
thinking about it forever, it will forever remain in the thought
level. You have to act! Start somewhere, anywhere! Only after you
start do you begin to get some feedback which will help you plot
your course better. The aircraft has to first take off before it
starts to adjust course for its destination. You must start,
somewhere, anywhere, doesn’t matter, just start! Act!

5. They never make it a must. Let me explain what it means
to make it a must. It means marshalling all your intent, your
will, your direction, into one singular flow that is directed
towards your goal. All obstacles are viewed as challenges to be
overcome. You will meet obstacles, and so expect it, but also
expect to move forward anyways. Use your obstacles to develop
strength and skills, don’t run away. Find out how to go past
them. Find out! There is always a way, always. And if your
emotions are acting against your desire, embrace them, learn what
they are, know yourself, but keep moving forward. Make it a must,
and it will happen. Guaranteed. You don’t know in how many steps
it will take, but you know it will happen.

6. They don’t have a realistic plan. If you want to do
something, find out how it is done from someone who has done it
before. Make a realistic plan. Copy from those who have succeeded
before you. But don’t throw away your intuition. Your intuition
is extremely powerful once you learn how to listen to it with
practice.

7. If they have a realistic plan, they never follow through
on the plan. Well, if you don’t follow the plan, who will?

8. They give responsibility to others (”experts”) instead of
to themselves. This way, they never really learn how to do it,
and if there are failures they never learn why the failures
happened and so they are bound to repeat them. It is a good idea
to get advice, but do it yourself. At least understand it
yourself even if you will delegate the actual doing.

9. They give up when they face challenges. Going through the
challenges is what has made people rich, not giving up. Look,
there are always challenges. So get used to that. You will only
get where you wish to get to if you are willing to face the
challenges along the path. All challenges are opportunities
dressed in work clothes, remember that. After the challenge is
over, you will discover the amazing fruit it held for you.

10. They fail to conduct their lives as a business; they
never ensure that they make a profit year by year. Get a personal
finance package like Quicken or Microsoft Money. you need to have
budgets and cash flow statements for your personal finances and
your businesses. It is easy with those software packages. If you
don’t keep records and track, you wont know when you are making
or losing money until it is embarrassingly too late.

11. They allow other people’s ideas to affect their decisions
unreasonably. There will always be people who don’t believe in
your way, or who are pessimistic, who try to pull you down, or
whatever. And they will sometimes be your closest friends and
family. You cannot change that - they have a right to be who they
are. It is OK. Allow them their thoughts, don’t judge them for
that, but don’t feel obligated to accept their thoughts of follow
their way. Don’t allow other people, now or from the past,
unreasonably affect your decisions. Allow them their way, and you
live your way.

12. They don’t get quality coaching. This is extremely
important! Coaching is simply getting mentored by someone who has
succeeded wildly in the area of your interest. Get coaching! Our
education system hardly equips us for real life, so don’t assume
that because you went to college you are properly equipped.
Hardly. You need to keep learning. The most successful people
attend seminars, read books, join mastermind groups and clubs,
find mentors, network, and even hire expensive personal coaches
to make sure they succeed.

How many of these reasons can you identify with? Well, now that
you see the reasons, you now can look at yourself and make sure
that you don’t follow ways that are known to not lead to wealth.
Follow what works and it will work. And don’t forget to enjoy
yourself along the way.

Are You a Free Thinker or an Intellectual Prostitute?

As a father whose world revolves around his eight-year-old
son, most of what little television I've watched over the
last eight years has been kids' shows, primarily cartoons.

Although I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, one of my
current favorites is "SpongeBob SquarePants".

I don't know why, it just is. :-)

One of my favorite episodes of "SpongeBob SquarePants" is
titled "Selling Out".

In this episode, SpongeBob's employer, Mr. Krabs, sells "The
Krusty Krab" restaurant for a trailer filled with suitcases
full of money to a corporate conglomerate that intends on
turning "The Krusty Krab" into a big chain.

Although it's what he always wanted, Mr. Krabs, now rich
beyond his wildest dreams, quickly discovers retirement
isn't all he thought it would be.

As a matter of fact...

He finds himself bored out of his mind with absolutely
nothing to do.

So...

Mr. Krabs takes a job as a busboy and dishwasher at "The
Krusty Krab", now renamed "Krabby O' Mondays", only to find
out it's no longer the restaurant it once was...

Everything is now very carefully "scripted", tightly
controlled by a manager following corporate manuals full of
strictly enforced policies, procedures, rules and
regulations...

Squidward is constantly smiling...

Mr. Krabs' beloved "Krabby Patties" are no longer made by
hand using the finest ingredients, but by a machine using
recycled garbage passed off by slick marketing to
unsuspecting customers as real food...

And...

Even worse...

The customers' money is no longer collected by real sea
creatures, but by an automated cash register.

When Mr. Krabs questions Carl, the new manager of "Krabby O'
Mondays", Carl tells Mr. Krabs "it's better if you don't
know" and closes the office door in his face.

Unable to take anymore...

With SpongeBob and Squidward standing by, scared to death to
say anything for fear of being "punished"...

Mr. Krabs, who hasn't read the employee handbook, nor cares
to, violates company policy and...

Speaks out...

Loudly...

So loud...

Everyone, including the customers, can hear what he knew to
be "wrong".

With an "uprising" clearly underway...

Carl grabs his cell phone, calls corporate headquarters and
says something to the effect of:

Code red...

We have a free thinker!

When I first saw this episode of "SpongeBob SquarePants", it
immediately reminded me of a passage I'd read in a book just
a few days earlier and had been pondering...

In "How to Get What You Want", a book he wrote prior to "The
Science of Getting Rich", the book for which he's best
known, Wallace D. Wattles writes:

"If you are an employee and desire promotion, put life into
everything you do; put in more than enough life and interest
to fill each piece of work."

"But do not be servile; never be a flunkey; and above all
things avoid the intellectual prostitution which is the vice
of our times in many trades and most professions."

"I mean by this the being a mere hired apologist for and
defender of immorality, graft, dishonesty, or vice in any
form."

"The intellectual prostitute may rise in the service, but he
is a lost soul."

"Respect yourself; be absolutely just to all; put LIFE into
every act and thought..."

Interesting...

Although Wallace D. Wattles wrote these words nearly one
hundred years ago, they could have just as easily been
written today.

Think about it...

The "intellectual prostitution which is the vice of our
times in many trades and most professions" has since risen
to the level of an art form and even become a profession in
and of itself.

All levels of business and government are virtually
overflowing with paid apologizers, defenders and ignorers of
immorality, graft, dishonesty, or vice...

People who've "sold out" their beliefs, morals and values
for a paycheck, and often not a very big one at that,
totally oblivious to the true cost...

"A lost soul," as Wallace D. Wattles put it.

Jesus, the Master Teacher, once asked:

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole
world, and lose his own soul?"

With that in mind...

My question for you to ponder today is...

Are you a "free thinker" like Mr. Krabs or an "intellectual
prostitute" like Carl?

The choice is yours...

Make it a good one...

It may well mean the difference between having respect for
yourself and being "a lost soul". :-)

In Chapter 7 of the book of Matthew, Jesus is quoted as
saying:
 
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do
to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law and the
prophets."
 
When Jesus made this statement, he wasn't just teaching his
followers a religious rule...
 
He was teaching his followers the *practical* application of
a Universal law.
 
This Universal law is known by many names:
 
The law of cause and effect...
 
The law of karma...
 
And...
 
The law of sowing and reaping...
 
Are just a few of them.
 
In his writings, Wallace D. Wattles, best known for his
classic masterpiece "The Science of Getting Rich",
frequently refers to it as the law of action and reaction...
 
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
 
Odds are you've heard this Universal law expressed in many
different ways:
 
Energy always returns to the source of its origination...

Regardless of how this Universal law is expressed...
 
The bottom line is...
 
Whatever you put out into the Universe comes back to you.
 
And...
 
More importantly...
 
Because it's a law...
 
Whatever you put out into the Universe *always* comes back
to you.
 
This is the way the Universe works.
 
When you look at it this way, it puts Jesus' words in a
whole new light, doesn't it?
 
Practicing the Golden Rule, as it's come to be known as,
isn't just the moral thing to do, or the right thing to
do...
 
It's the *smart* thing to do!
 
Why?
 
Simple...
 
Because it's the law...
 
If you cheat others, you *will* be cheated.
 
If you hate others, you *will* be hated.
 
If you hurt others, you *will* be hurt.
 
If you judge others, you *will* be judged.
 
If you steal from others, you *will* be stolen from.
 
If you take advantage of others, you *will* be taken
advantage of.
 
If you treat others rudely, you *will* be treated rudely.
 
On the other hand...
 
If you forgive others, you *will* be forgiven.
 
If you help others, you *will* be helped.
 
If you love others, you *will* be loved.
 
If you treat others fairly, you *will* be treated fairly.
 
If you treat others honestly, you *will* be treated
honestly.
 
If you treat others kindly, you *will* be treated kindly.
 
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction...
 
Whatever you put out into the Universe always comes back to
you...
 
You can't escape it...
 
It's the law!
 
Now...
 
One thing that's *very* important to understand...
 
When Jesus said:
 
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do
to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law and the
prophets."
 
He was *not* saying this because others, themselves, will
"do unto you" what you have done unto them.
 
Jesus was saying this because the Universe, God or whatever
you prefer to call the "Universal Power" behind all things,
will "do unto you" what you have done unto others!
 
For example...
 
If you steal something from someone, it doesn't necessarily
mean that particular person will steal something from you.
 
However...
 
You *will* be stolen from.
 
It's not a matter of "if"...
 
It's just a matter of when and how!
 
On the other hand...
 
If you treat someone honestly, it doesn't necessarily mean
that particular person will treat you honestly.
 
However...
 
You *will* be treated honestly.
 
Again...
 
It's not a matter of "if"...
 
It's just a matter of when and how!
 
Why?
 
Because it's the law...
 
It's the way the Universe works.
 
So...
 
The next time you're about to do something...
 
Anything...
 
That involves other people...
 
Ask yourself this very simple question:
 
Would I want someone else doing this to me?
 
If your answer is yes...
 
Do it.
 
If your answer is no...
 
Don't.
 
It's that simple.
 
Remember...
 
Practicing the Golden Rule...
 
Doing unto others as you'd have them do unto you...
 
Or...
 
Treating others as you'd like to be treated...
 
Isn't just the moral thing to do, or the right thing to
do...
 
It's the *smart* thing to do!
